We have done it…
It was around this time last year that there was a little confusion on the Bagel or Beigel page. In anticipation of Valentine’s Day, I had innocently posted a picture of a heart-shaped bagel to Facebook, announcing that Valentine’s bagels were on their way. Excited about making the upcoming batches for our hungry customers, I sat back and took a bite out of a tester bagel that I had made in preparation. But I wasn’t eating for long. Instantly, my inbox was flooding with order requests. Somebody wanted a dozen for the 12 years they had been married; another wanted just two - one for them, one for their significant other. The messages were rolling in, to the point where I had to come up with a blanket apology - we weren’t actually selling heart-shaped bagels. It was just a nice photo I’d found on Google Images.
Luckily, the responses I received were understanding, and I even persuaded a few customers to order the ACTUAL bagels we had prepared for Valentine’s Day: cinnamon and brown sugar bagels inspired by Avi’s love of Cinnabon (the feedback for these was even better). But even so, I’m not going to do you dirty this year. No false advertising, no let-downs. In 2022, we’re excited to announce that we’re offering a Bagel or Beigel first: real, fresh, delicious heart-shaped bagels.
That’s right, we’ve perfected the shape so that you can surprise your special someone with their favourite scrumptious snack on the most romantic day of the year. Our heart-shaped bagels even come with the signature bagel hole in the centre - shaped like a heart, of course.
Now, this is where we’ll make you feel downright sick. February’s bagel is made with our Wholemeal Everything dough, so we’ve aptly named it the ‘You Are My Everything Bagel’, designed for that person who means everything to you. Nauseous yet? We thought so…
With this plain base, you can pair the bagel with pretty much anything. How about shmearing on our Strawberry Shortbread Cheese Cake In A Tub and adding some sliced strawberries on top for a sweet snack? Why not make them breakfast in bed with our mouth watering Cream Cheese and some fresh smoked salmon? Go on, show them that you really care by making them their favourite snack in bagel form! As they say, food is the way to a person’s heart (at least, that saying rings true for us).
