2020 is coming to a close, and what a year it’s been. Bagel or Beigel was set up out of necessity during the lockdown, as many small businesses have! As pandemic restrictions loomed, our productivity and sales went up and we were able to weather the storm with our little round breads - we never thought that we could bring our customers so much joy with a delivery of bagels!

Since day one, we’ve had amazing support from all of you. From excusing a couple of rare delivery and packaging hiccups (hey, we’re a growing business and we’ve been working out the kinks!) to donating to our Halloween children’s charity collection pot, we can’t thank you enough for coming along with us on this journey.

Some of our favourite milestones include sending a box to Northern Ireland, where our bagels arrived in excellent condition, despite travelling around 500 miles! However, we’ve also taken pleasure in the smaller things - we still get a little buzz of excitement when we get a notification that an order has been placed, and even when our courier arrives to pick up our packages! And what has really warmed our hearts is the ‘thank you’ messages from happy customers, from those who have been unable to get to the shops and have had to rely on food deliveries during the pandemic, to those who have seen their kids enjoying a bagel for the first time, to those that have given their family members our vegan cream cheese to be met with the incredulous question, ‘is this really vegan?!’. During the 4am starts and late nights in the kitchen, it really reminds us why we started Bagel or Beigel in the first place!

Thanks to you, we’re so pleased to say that we have sold out of our bagels every week since we launched! It has been full steam ahead in the Bagel or Beigel kitchen - we haven’t stopped creating delicious bagels for you to munch on while you’re on the go, whether you’re an essential worker packing your lunchbox for the day ahead, or you’re working from home and raiding the cupboards for a mid-morning snack. We’ve enjoyed filling your tummies!

And now that we’ve been popping up at markets over the past few months, we’ve been able to see you indulging in our bagels in person! If you’ve ever made the food you love for someone else, you’ll know just how satisfying it is to see them enjoying it. Yes, we’ve been paying attention while you’ve been munching away near our bagel stand - we see the smiles on your faces and the nods of approval!

We look forward to the possibilities that the New Year could bring, but most of all we look forward to doing what we do best - making bagels. After a short Christmas break, we’re diving right into the kitchen again, and we know you’ll be yearning for some delicious snacks after all that festive food has disappeared!
